Thailand: NBTC announcement for Wireless Microphone and DECT

Recently the Thailand NBTC announced below new technical standard for Wireless Microphone and Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT)

1) NBTC TS 1006-2568 Technical standard for wireless microphone (updated standard)

2) NBTC TS 1042-2568 Technical standard for Digital Radiocommunication equipment using Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT) technology (new standard)

3) Criteria of using frequency and radiocommunication equipment that are authorized to use in general (updated announcement)

Announcement date on Royal Gazette: 4 December 2025

Effective date: 5 December 2025


 Some useful summary as below:

1 NBTC TS 1006-2568 Technical standard for wireless microphone : highlighted changes to current standard.

1.1 Improve the standard scope by adding the types of assistive listening devices and specifying the channel bandwidth for Wireless Multichannel Audio Systems (WMAS) not to exceed 8 MHz.

1.2 Improve electrical safety requirements as follows:

1) Add conditions of electrical technical characteristics from “Only devices connected to an AC main supply” to “Not using a battery power supply”.

2) Improve the standard from IEC 60950 – 1 to IEC 62368 – 1.

3) Improve the standard from TIS 1561 – 2548 to TIS 62368 Part 1-2563.

2 NBTC TS 1042-2568 Technical standard for Digital Radiocommunication equipment using Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT) technology: this is a new standard. Below are major contents.

2.1 Allow to use new frequency 1880-1900 MHz 250 mW e.i.r.p.

2.2 RF requirements: NBTC will accept one of following test reports;

            1) ETSI EN 301406 V2.2.1 or newer

            2) ETSI EN 301406-1 V3.1.1 or newer

            3) ETSI EN 301406-2 V3.1.1 or newer

2.3 Electrical safety requirements: NBTC will accept one of following test reports;

            1) IEC 62368-1

            2) TIS 62368 Part 1-2563 or newer

3 Criteria of using frequency and radiocommunication equipment that are authorized to use in general : highlighted changes

3.1 Add new frequency and usage condition as in below table.
