Argentina - ENACOM update information for Broadband Standard v23.1

2024-02-28

After months of analysis, ENACOM released last week some clarifications about same models commercialized with different antennas.

Please check the publish in Spanish as attached. Translation is as below:

The Technical Standard ENACOM-Q2-63.02 V23.1 “Devices integrating Broadband Digital Modulation Systems” establishes in point 5.3 (page 6) that models whose transmitters are identical, but that are commercialized with different antennas, must be registered in the RAMATEL independently.

On the other hand, point 5.5.1 (page 7) takes into account different considerations that determine the average conducted power limit of 5.5.2 (operating band, antenna gain, connection type, operating mode).

Given the different configurations that an equipment can present, it must be determined which are the minimum necessary ones that must be tested for its approval.

To carry out the analysis it is necessary to take into account:

• the operating band;

• if the equipment is connectorized;

• if it has an integrated/detachable antenna, its gain;

• the type of connection supported, according to the operating mode (Point to Point or Other);

• if the factory specifications change depending on the configured connection type.

On the other hand, if the equipment has multiple antennas with different gains, the highest value of that specification will be used for the analysis.

For the particular case of the band from 5925 to 7125 MHz, the type of equipment (Access Point, Slave Device or Client Device) directly determines the limits of maximum conducted power and power density.
